Pros

4 day week had some perks. (albeit 4.5 days, not 4 as they advertise) Some people there were genuinely talented, decent human beings. The office is aesthetically pleasing, but is now a ghost town.

Cons

Lunio's leadership, especially at the C-level, is marked by arrogance, ruthlessness, and incompetence, creating a culture where blame is shifted, and no one takes responsibility. Over the past 10 months, I've seen senior team members avoid accountability and blame their teams instead. During interviews, they talk about wanting 'high-performers' and 'A-players,' but they don't mention the two rounds of redundancies and questionable performance-based firings in the last 10 months. This has affected 25-30 people, including one person fired while on holiday and another just weeks after a promotion. All had no prior warning. No communication was given to the existing team, other than seeing us deleted from Slack one after another. The CEO was on holiday whilst all this was happening. Cowardly behaviour. These issues come from poor management, their failure to lead and execute improvements to the product. Targets change every three months whenever the C-suite decides. The awards and 'people-first' posts on social media are just for show. The CEO never spoke to me the whole time I was there. They are now forcing existing team members to post fake reviews here. Probably fearful of their own jobs. Their responses to some of the recent reviews just shows how arrogant and unkind they are. Some of the responses don't make sense or have definitely been written using AI. That's A-players for ya! There's a lot more I could say, but I'll stop here to stay anonymous. This really says it all.

Pros

Great place to work. Huge earning potential. Strong focus on high performance and learning to better yourself. Genuinely exciting project in a great space.

Cons

Like any startup or scaleup, it's hard. Some cultural issues of what I can only say are lazy people but this seems to be improving now with management actively moving them on. Has been somewhat annoying in the past to see those performing poorly compensated the same as those who care/really try. Management has been too weak in the past, although seems to be improving now.

Pros

I joined because the mission felt real, the product was solving an actual problem, and there were a lot of smart people who genuinely cared about doing good work. The people have been the best part for me. There is a lot of talent here and it can be a really energising place to be. I have seen the company get clearer and more structured over time. Expectations feel better defined, there is more consistency than there used to be, and it feels less reactive. There is also more clarity on what good looks like and how you can grow, which makes a big difference in a start-up. It feels like the business has the support to keep improving, which gives it a more stable feel than a lot of companies at this stage.

Cons

It is still a start-up, so things move quickly and priorities can change. Not every team feels equally mature yet, so your experience may depend on where you land. The company has been through a lot of change, and that naturally takes time to settle across every team. If you want lots of certainty or a lot of hand-holding, this probably is not the place for you.

What stands out is that the things you value most, the people, the mission, the sense that the product is solving a real problem, are exactly what we want to be known for. It is genuinely good to hear that the talent and energy in the business still feels tangible to you day to day. That is something we work hard to protect as we scale. Your observation about the company getting more structured and clearer over time is something we recognise and are encouraged by. Defining what good looks like, building more consistency around feedback and growth, making those things feel real rather than just stated, that work is ongoing and we know it is not finished. Your point about maturity varying across teams is a fair one. The growth and maturity of teams is rarely linear, and leadership are acutely aware of that. The focus is on making sure the improvements already made in parts of the business are felt more consistently everywhere. The honest framing of the cons is appreciated too. Fast-moving environments are not for everyone, and we would rather people know that going in. What we can keep working on is making sure that pace comes with enough clarity and support that it feels energising rather than unsettling. The advice to management is well taken, and it maps closely to where our own focus is.
