Pros
I’ve been at Lumos through some ups and downs, but honestly, it’s a really exciting time to be here now. The mission has always been incredible and the work we do really makes a difference. What’s changed recently is the real focus on people — new leadership has brought in stronger support for staff, more open communication, and a real investment in wellbeing, culture, and how we work together. You can see and feel the shift — people are more positive, supported, and engaged. Leadership genuinely listens and cares about making Lumos a place where people can thrive. More autonomy is being given to teams for decision making and people really feel the investment in improving ways of working and engagement.
Cons
Of course, like any organisation in this sector, there are challenges — funding can be uncertain and the external environment can change quickly, plus the work is complex and often requires juggling a lot with limited capacity. But overall, the direction we’re heading in feels really positive, and it’s exciting to be part of that momentum.
