Pros

The team at Luminary is stellar. I'm surrounded by brilliant, thoughtful, hard working people. The product is very cool and unique, with the prospect of being very disruptive to the established computational simulation community. I've had lots of opportunities to learn new skills and grow professionally.

Cons

It takes some resiliency to work at a start-up. It's a very exciting, but fundamentally uncertain future. Be prepared to hustle and to pick up odd tasks that need doing.

Pros

You’ll work on something genuinely exciting and technically challenging: applying physics-informed AI to real-world engineering problems with massive impact. The culture values autonomy and clear thinking—good ideas win regardless of title. The technical talent is exceptional, and the pace of innovation is fast but disciplined. It’s an environment that rewards self-starters more than those who need direction.

Cons

Luminary is scaling, so bandwidth can be thin and priorities shift quickly. The company is transitioning from early startup mode to a more structured organization, which creates some growing pains.

Pros

The company has come a long way in the past year. After some early challenges and leadership changes, Luminary Cloud has really hit its stride. The recent funding round and new leadership team have brought clear direction and renewed energy across the organization. Collaboration and transparency have improved noticeably, and the company feels well-positioned for growth—especially with the upcoming PhysicsAI initiative, which is genuinely exciting to be part of. Things move fast here, and that pace creates a strong sense of progress and opportunity.

Cons

There’s still some natural adjustment as the company scales and refines its processes, but overall the direction and execution are solid.
