Pros

Very supportive team members !

Cons

Pay was below livable wage, without pay increases to account for inflation. Unfair and unrealistic employee reviews which made it impossible to justify ever getting a raise. Workers were expected to utilize clinical skills they were never given training in which is very unethical, not to mention, unfair to clients. Many of the staff struggled to pay bills, yet were expected to be 100% present with clients. Mental health is comprised of so many factors. Ability to pay bills, financial stability, fair work loads, being valued by the company, having mental health days, not having to earn sick days... Lumenus is a mental health agency that does not care to pay their workers a living wage, at the price of many people's mental and physical health. Yet upper management make enough to make the sunshine list. Since many workers do not make enough money to own and maintain a car, many rely on public transportation. Taking the bus during the pandemic was very high risk, as workers were contracting the virus through taking the TTC. Quite infuriating since many staff at the agency were able to work from home, while the low paying employees had to risk their lives to serve the clients face to face. Not to mention, if you look at the Sunshine List, many members of upper management's pay doubled over the past couple of years while the low-paying employees' wages never went up a cent.

Pros

The only thing I think of is: supportive colleagues

Cons

The workload is INTENSE, there is a high demand for employee time even outside of the contracted hours - feels like they don't care about employees' personal life, nearly impossible to maintain a positive work-life balance, depite not being a crisis centre - often feels like we need to respond to crises and like the organziation is in a ciris, limited space for counselling in community programs, feels like there is a push to be corporate when it is a mental health non-profit which is the opposite of corporate.
