I’m truly sorry to hear that your experience at Lumenad was not what you were looking for. I’ve addressed a few of your concerns below. Lack of clarity into hiring, firing and promotions Radical transparency is one of our core values, and we live it in all of our decisions. We have a clear promotion process that is collaborative and thorough and would have been happy to provide more detail to you if you would’ve let us know that you had questions on it. Hiring is also a collaborative process that we would have been happy to provide more details on. I’m sure you can understand that in the case of an involuntary termination, Lumenad does not share details with any individuals who do not need to know in order to respect the individual who has been terminated. Vp team out of touch If you found that the VP team or someone specific was out of touch, it’s best to live our core value of transparency and let them know what they’re missing. You could also bring this up in a weekly 1:1 or update with your manager, let HR know, or attend the CEO’s office hours to provide feedback. We also offer a lot of anonymous ways to provide this feedback as well through Lattice and company surveys. Lack of clear direction and communication of expectations While we strive to provide clear direction and communication around expectations, we also encourage employees to take ownership of their professional growth. If an employee doesn’t have clear expectations, they should feel empowered to speak up and ask questions to get the clarity they’re looking for. Very poor pay Lumenad pays market value or more for all positions. If you didn’t feel like you were being compensated fairly in your role, we would have been happy to have a conversation with you and provide you with the data you needed. I would touch on the “unhealthy culture” piece that you stated in your subject line, but further on you did state that it is a “Fun company culture and challenging / interesting work” which I agree with.
