Cons
I have worked for Luby's for a pretty long time. What we are facing today is a big challenge. Everyone in the food business can understand. The company has decided to close many of it's stores due to the virus, and cut salary employees pay in HALF! We can understand that we need to do everything possible to stay in business, but to cut the folks who are in the stores on the front line, its really disappointing! We put our Health, and lives on the line each day,not knowing who we will come in contact with. Lubys doesn't care about it's employees! I have learned this first hand! After all the hard work, hurricanes, floods,Ice storms, and now coronavirus . Time and Time we have been called upon, and we have all ways responded. How can you ask your employees to follow the CORE values, when you yourself fail to do so. My life at risk was not good enough, you had to reach into our pocket! Now you ask stores to run a labor you yourself can't do if you was running a unit. 45HR and 35HR for a non drive thru unit! Business dictates the amount of hours a store needs to use in order to provide guest service ,is it not one of our core values?? Lubys will take advantage of the opportunity to gain access to funds from the government,as they should. They are looking at their employees with the same thing and mind. They said well the government will be giving checks to our employees, so don't worry about cutting their wages. Shame on you Luby's! You laid employees off and told them they would be able to use any PTO they had left , afterwards you said that is false, file for unemployment. Shame on you Luby's! You let your share holders down, now the people who give you everything, you have let them down. Shame on you Luby's.
