Pros

You receive a 50% discount on full priced stock and there are incentives and vouchers for big sales as management is VERY money-driven

Cons

All retail jobs are stressful and pushy, but at Lovisa you are forced to attempt to sell multiple extra items to each customer and are given a warning if you fail to do so. You are also told you MUST wear five items of full priced jewellery, if you come to work without five pieces you must buy new pieces when your manager arrives. If it goes on sale you can't wear it anymore. This is NOT in the contract but is communicated to all employees by management and you will simply be dismissed if you don't comply. Lovisa has been sued by a former employee because of this, but continue to state that this is company policy. Dress code is extremely strict, no thin straps on clothing, no denim, no tights, no sandals, no leopard print, no tank tops. There are certain fabric prints that you are allowed to wear and you are pulled aside and given warnings if you don't adhere. If you have poor availability you will be removed from the roster. You must be able to come in to work with a few hours notice if someone fails to show up. This also includes traveling to other stores to work. You are not paid for travel time. When processing sales you must ask the customer to buy an extra item. If you don't do this you are given an official warning.

Pros

Employee discount is 50% off of full priced jewelry only, not sale items or piercings. • They will hire anyone who doesn’t ghost an interview. •You’ll learn to overcome management who treat you as a number and not a human

Cons

•Relentless, unrealistic sales expectations with zero grace. You don’t even get insight on how the goals are helping the future of the company. •Chronic understaffing while still being held to aggressive targets. You will be expected to work by yourself for 12+ hours if an employee doesn’t show up. • Minimal training, yet full accountability from day one. Click through modules that you are pressured to get through within your first week. •Constant micromanagement and metric obsession. Always contacted outside of working hours. •Burnout is normalized. No support or high quality candidates apply. Always told to recruit while only offering to pay talent $16-18 an hour at most for key holders. •High turnover is not accidental — it’s the culture. You’re expected to pierce ears and never get truly certified and rewarded for your expertise. •Little appreciation, recognition, or meaningful support from upper management. When you get sick they expect you to still work, won’t allow you to utilize your legally earned sick days without contacting you.
