Pros
1. A SMALL piece of a bonus that you get every now and then (nothing to write home about) 2. Networking with bank managers, business owners, and other clients who you pick up and deliver to daily. This gives you the possibility to find a better career with a company who appreciates their employees. 3. Some of the other driver/messengers are pretty cool to work with.
Cons
Where do I start?! Low pay, no promotions, no decent benefits. This is a truly dead-end job. You're better off at Walmart. 1. VERY low pay for the type of work you are doing. It doesn't help that this branch is located in a city with a high crime rate. The raises are a slap in the face. 2. Management is out of touch with the rest of the team. They provide no type of leadership or guidance. This is a very figure it out on your own culture. There are a few driver/messengers who will help you with any problems. The managers don't know how to do the job, most of them have never been a driver/messenger or even worked in the vault, so they have no idea what to do if something goes wrong. 3. Favoritism runs rampant here! Management has a habit of making decisions that benefit their favorites rather than whats best for the whole team. Management also makes decisions about other employees and issues punishment based on gossip and hear-say that the favorites tell them. This frustrates the rest of the team and creates an environment with very low morale. 4. No work/life balance. You work 50+ hours a week at times. For some this is not a problem, but for those who have a spouse and kids this can create issues at home. 5. The Equipment is outdated and barely works. The phones/walkies they give you are a piece of crap, so you have to use your own cellphone to place calls to customers and to GPS the location of your stops. The trucks break down regularly; in the summer there's no a/c and in the winter there's no heat. 6. The cameras in the truck are no big deal, but when they're used to spy on employees it's a problem.
