Pros

I've worked directly with Michael (CEO) for several years now as a remote software contractor. I have nothing but good things to report about him and the company. He's as sharp as anyone I've ever worked with, is honest, and is very reasonable and flexible. He holds people around him to a very high standard, but I've always felt that he cares about people before business. My favorite part about working with Look Media is the culture that the best ideas win. There's zero bureaucracy, and I can feel my contributions directly impact the business. Admittedly, I work remotely and don't often work directly with other employees, but the interactions I've had with others at the company has also been positive, if somewhat limited. The company is great for people who are ambitious and eager to learn and contribute. The industry is unique and interesting. While I see some negative reviews on here, my experience has been nothing but positive. I've worked directly with Michael for years and can only say good things about him.

Cons

The pros of the company and culture for me could be the cons for someone else. I appreciate the exposure to difficult problems, the hands-on, quick-moving problem solving, and the merit-based culture where the best ideas win. For me, it's hard to think of a better place to learn and grow professionally. However, I think Look Media might not be the best fit for people who have enjoyed working at larger, maybe more sophisticated bureaucratic organizations where stability and structure are valued more. Different strokes for different folks.
