My experience as a former employee of Brinley and Morad Optometry was not positive. The workplace culture was characterized by belittlement, gossip, and passive-aggressive behavior. The management was unfit, with a tendency to pit employees against each other through favoritism, inconsistent behavior, and harsh language. There was a lack of proper training and patience to teach complex changes in software and billing, which created an environment of frustration and stress. The "Wear many hats" mentality put an unreasonable amount of responsibilities on entry-level positions without adequate compensation, which made it difficult to perform job duties effectively. The absence of an HR department made it challenging to address workplace issues, and the manager was known to give the silent treatment, exclude employees from group activities, and use abusive language. When I brought up my concerns to the owner, my concerns were dismissed, and I was even put on probation the next business day, which felt like retaliation for speaking out. In conclusion, I would not recommend working at Brinley and Morad Optometry. The workplace culture was toxic, and the management was unprofessional and ineffective, making it a challenging and stressful environment.
