Pros
For a freelance writer with proven experience and some degree of talent, it's a nice gig since you can work from home and get paid via Paypal -- although the pay is abysmal.
Cons
There is absolutely no assistance from editors; you are basically on your own and you better produce a minimum amount of copy each week or you're done. The pay was anywhere between $12 and $18 per article and before you gasp, the articles are very short. Still, it's horrible pay and because of the checkered history with this news service which was formerly known as Journatic, that is, articles were outsourced overseas and writers were caught plagiarizing, every writer must record his/her interviews and upload them to the company's editorial system. Writers must also obtain photos for each of their articles. It's quite a bit of work per piece for very little money but, like a factory worker, if you can produce a high enough volume each week, you may just earn enough money to pay your cell phone bill each month!
