Nice friendly team, great christmas parties and free access to the owner’s gym.

Probably one of the worst places I have worked at. The director/owner operated a culture of fear which led to a very negative working environment. People were scared to speak up, particularly when he was in a bad mood. There was no genuine concern for staff welfare and we were expected to work late and ‘put the hours in’ but got in trouble if we were a few minutes late in the morning. I found the director to be crass, showing off his supercars and designer purchases whilst paying staff below market salaries and not even offering any paid sick leave - demonstrating that you can succeed in business without ever learning how to manage people. The other staff made it bearable - they were nice to work with and you could have a laugh with them, but the negative atmosphere meant that everyone constantly complained about work which was very draining.

Some of the people that worked there were lovely, kind and helpful, particularly some of the people on the merchandising team. There's also potential to move around or get a promotion - they are open to changing your role to suit your abilities.

The owner/boss was almost impossible to please and made people feel uncomfortable due to his hard to predict outbursts. He threw a hanger at someone once and made people cry on multiple occasions. Some of the people that worked closely with him also tended to belittle those around them. They weren't necessarily bad people, just bad to work with.
