Pros

You'll have the odd fun night out drinking with the juniors.

Cons

- The HR system sits with the Head of People and Culture. - The agency struggles to use Al effectively and cannot keep up with it. - There has been confusion on employee working hours during my time, even though simple things like this should be very clear.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Whilst we welcome honest and constructive feedback, we do not recognise a number of the points raised in this review as an accurate reflection of the business today. People, culture and values are central to how we operate and are areas we continue to invest heavily in. Over the past 12 months alone, we have introduced significant improvements across employee development, communication, performance management, wellbeing and operational processes. This work has been shaped by feedback from both current and former employees and remains a key focus for the leadership team. We would also like to clarify that our HR support is provided by an independent external HR consultancy, a structure that has been in place for a number of years, including throughout the period in which the reviewer was employed by the business. The role of the Head of People & Culture is focused on employee experience, engagement, learning and development, performance support, culture, wellbeing and organisational development, rather than acting as the sole HR function within the business. With regards to AI, we have invested significantly in both tools and training and continue to evolve our approach as the technology develops. We see AI as a tool to improve efficiency, streamline administration, support research and remove low value tasks from our teams' day to day workload. However, we are ultimately a PR agency built on relationships, strategic thinking and creativity. No AI tool can replace the value of strong media relationships, trusted client partnerships, sound judgement or the ability to identify and create compelling stories. Our approach is therefore to use AI where it adds value operationally, whilst ensuring our teams spend more time doing the work that delivers the greatest impact for clients: building robust relationships with journalists, creating outstanding campaigns and providing strategic counsel. We also acknowledge that there was historic confusion around certain policies and processes during periods of significant business change. In some cases, policies were originally introduced with positive intent and designed to provide greater flexibility and benefits for employees. However, as the business evolved, we recognised that certain approaches were not delivering the outcomes intended for either the business or the wider team. A good example of this was our previous unlimited holiday policy. Whilst introduced to provide greater flexibility and trust, feedback from employees highlighted that usage was often inconsistent, with some team members feeling unable to take full advantage of the policy due to workload pressures and team commitments. Importantly, this feedback was not only welcomed by the business but actively encouraged. Following those conversations, we reviewed the policy and introduced a more structured approach to create greater fairness, consistency and transparency for everyone. We believe this demonstrates an important point: when employees provide constructive feedback, we listen, we reflect and, where change is needed, we act. These areas have since been reviewed, documented and communicated to the team to provide greater clarity and consistency across the business. We fully accept that Little Red Rooster is not the right environment for everyone. We are a high performing agency with ambitious goals, high standards and a strong culture of accountability. Whilst that approach will not suit every individual, many of our team thrive in an environment that offers challenge, responsibility and opportunities for growth. Finally, whilst we appreciate that every employee's experience is unique, we do not believe it is accurate to suggest that the business focuses solely on financial performance. Our investment in people, culture, learning and development, wellbeing initiatives, employee engagement and operational improvements demonstrates the importance we place on building a sustainable business where both our people and our clients can succeed. We wish you every success in your future career and thank you for your contribution during your time with the business.

Pros

I had had the pleasure of working at LRR for a number of years having previously worked with the founder Victoria in the Digital Division at Cohn & Wolfe and have been impressed with all that she has achieved then and throughout her career. I’ve always admired Victoria's go-getter attitude and exceptional work ethic. She has always led with a strong sense of accountability and an unwavering focus on results, setting a high standard for herself and everyone around her. What truly sets Victoria apart in her CEO role at Little Red Rooster is how deeply she values her team. From organising international retreats to investing in meaningful initiatives like creating a food pantry during the pandemic, she consistently shows that people come first. She fosters an environment where individuals are empowered to perform at their best. Victoria and the agency bring a refreshing, no-nonsense approach to her client consultancy offering a honest viewpoint that can drive real impact rather than a surface-level solution to appease someone. We have collaborated on several successful UK/US projects over the years and share similar values around 'working hard but having fun' as well an 'integrity' first mind-set. I’m really excited to be working at the agency as we expand into North America and look forward to what we’ll all accomplish next.

Cons

Vic is a very hard worker and I wish at times she would slow down. Sometimes she is hard to keep up with!

Thanks for the review. So many positives so thank you. It’s great to hear. We are so happy you like working here. I can’t argue with that competitive environment but I can try and help with long hours. Please do try and leave on time and come and talk to me (Vic) or your line manager if you fee your hours are spiralling. We can help reprioritse, delegate etc. PR is a job that can often feel like it's never 'finished' there will always be another person you could reply to or pitch you could write. It is about prioritising what has to happen now and what can be moved. If you need help with this please talk to me (Vic), your line manager or your buddy. You can use the Engagement Multiplier to talk to me anonymously if that helps. I appreciate PR can be long hours especially when we have events with press and clients but do make sure you take advantage of our unlimited holiday policy to ensure you have enough time away from work to recharge.
