Pros

Day-to-day with my close team was enjoyable for the most part Work/life balance was achievable with the right boundaries

Cons

No boundaries with clients. The one account I worked on (which is one of the agency's few anchors) was the client of your worst nightmare. They belittled, bullied, and forced their way through the work, which results in 95% of the Liquid team to quit or transfer to another account. So why 2 stars for Liquid if it's the client's fault? Because it's up to Liquid and it's leadership team to defend and advocate for their team. I never saw that. Everything was just swept underneath the rug in fear of losing one of their biggest accounts. I don't see a world in which Liquid leadership can properly advocate for their team, because there is a MAJOR conflict of interest--the CEO of Liquid is the CMO of the client. You can't play for both sides and each side and win. You gotta pick a team and swing for the fences. I still don't know what a "Silicon Valley approach / mindset" means, and neither do prospective clients. This is why only the worst, most desperate clients are the ones knocking on Liquid's door.

Pros

My experience with Liquid began with a rigorous interview process, which proved to be a major challenge for me at the time. Looking back, it presented an opportunity for me to interview Liquid and the people I would be working with. Reflecting on my time at Liquid, I am filled with gratitude for the incredible journey it was. My 4+ years there were full of enriching experiences, and every moment was significant. The unwavering support and belief in me were instrumental in my growth, both personally and professionally. I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside such talented individuals, contributing to impactful projects for esteemed clients. The collaborative spirit and camaraderie within Liquid truly makes it a special place. Life in Marketing can be extremely challenging and frustrating at times, but it can also be very rewarding. What made me show up every day was the people I worked with. Liquid is full of some of the best and brightest in the industry. Not only are they great at what they do for work, but they are also great people personally. I’ve never felt more supported. I carry with me the lessons learned and memories made from my time at Liquid. I am grateful for the guidance, knowledge, and encouragement I received.

Cons

In the field of marketing, you don't always get to choose your clients – such is life.

Pros

Tons of talented, driven, and capable people across the board. Shining stars in every department. Great, structured thinking.

Cons

There are some incredibly smart, creative, and capable individuals working here—but unfortunately, the organization’s leadership consistently fails to empower or support them. The executive team is plagued by a mix of micromanagement and neglect, creating an environment where it’s difficult to succeed and even harder to thrive. Long-standing leaders often talk about the importance of evolution and growth, yet seem unwilling or unable to adopt industry best practices or follow through on internal processes. In just over a year, more than half of the leadership team turned over—a clear sign of deeper organizational issues. The CEO frequently initiates pet projects that consume significant time and resources but rarely result in meaningful outcomes. These distractions, combined with consistently poor communication, create confusion and waste momentum. It’s disheartening to see such potential go unrealized due to systemic dysfunction at the top. Until the leadership culture changes, the company will continue to struggle with retention, morale, and execution. Also- as noted on nearly every review here, the persistence of the abusive, nepotistic client remains as well as it's curious CEO/CMO double billing situation.
