Pros

Lionbridge is a large company with a lot of offerings in the localization, web services, and marketing fields. You'll have the opportunity to learn a lot about the loc industry and the various tools involved (many of which Lionbridge is on the cutting edge of). There's great flexibility regarding work hours and working from home, but this is becoming more and more rare (if not totally removed) with new hires. Direct managers are fantastic, dedicated, and want their teams to succeed. Co-workers are a fun, smart, bunch, making the best of what they have.

Cons

Company culture is non-existent. HR is completely overworked and never seem to get anything done, and there's very high turnover in most departments. Senior management has no idea what those on the "lower rungs" do, and often roll out policies and changes that make little to no sense. Direct managers hold little power, so don't expect a lot of recognition/raises/promotion, even if you truly deserve it. If you do manage to get promoted, don't be surprised when HR low-balls your salary! Things have improved in the last year or so, as there were some new hires in senior management; however, I don't expect that to change culture or the rewards system much. Prepare to work a lot with little to entice you.

Pros

Supportive Leadership: The management team is approachable and genuinely invested in employee success, providing guidance and mentorship to help you reach your full potential. Career Development: There are numerous opportunities for professional growth, including training programs, workshops, and access to industry conferences, ensuring you continually advance your skills. If your current position is not working out for you there may be opportunities to join a different team and expand your skill set. Work-Life Balance: Flexible scheduling options and remote work opportunities allow for a healthy balance between professional responsibilities and personal life. Recognition and Rewards: Employees are regularly acknowledged for their hard work and achievements, both through formal recognition programs and informal appreciation. Even if it is just a call out on a team meeting, it shows your hard work is not going unnoticed.

Cons

Rapid Changes: The company's dynamic nature means frequent shifts in priorities or objectives, which may be challenging for those who prefer stability. Resource Constraints: Occasionally, there might be limited resources which can impact the ability to execute projects efficiently. Communication Gaps: In a large organization, there can be occasional breakdowns in communication between departments, leading to misunderstandings or delays. Onboarding Process: The initial onboarding process might benefit from more structure or support to help new employees acclimate quickly.

Pros

It has been very cool seeing the company evolve with the new AI and LLM Technologies. Going from a complex language services company to an AI-first complete content and AI Data Services company has opened many new doors. Lionbridge also focuses on promoting internal candidates first, giving us all the chance to strive for openings internally to grow our careers. I've been promoted multiple times in my 5+ years. We're surrounded by very intelligent and good people, and it's interesting solving new-world problems together as a global team. We're constantly working with team members and customers from all over the world, and get the chance to learn about the various personal and business cultures of so many.

Cons

No real Cons. It's not an easy industry to be in these days with things changing at this rapid a pace, but we keep up well. Never a dull moment, and never a new challenge around each corner, but a great team to always work it out with.
