Pros

HQ staff is excellent and are very competent, hard workers, despite the work environment; the office is located in a nice area

Cons

All details below only reflect my personal opinions and experiences working for this company. I felt that the CEO created a culture of fear and was extremely disrespectful towards employees. In my estimation, the CEO used a combination of a strict authoritarian management style coupled with severe micromanagement. Long work hours were mandatory for salaried, non-contract staff, often 60 hours or more per week, including weekends. To be fair, it was discussed during the interview process that occasional long hours and weekend work would be needed, although it was not specified just how often that would be. Praise or thanks for all this extra work was rarely given to me. In fact, I was personally routinely made to feel that I did not take the work seriously enough and did not accomplish enough, despite the long hours. I witnessed this same attitude displayed by the CEO towards other employees as well. I also witnessed and experienced disrespectful tones and behavior leveled by the CEO towards myself and other employees. Threats to be written up for relatively minor infractions were commonplace. In my experience, employees were often made to feel that the CEO did not care about them and that they could be easily replaced, due to the CEO stating such things in company meetings that I personally witnessed on multiple occasions. I enjoy a challenge and stayed for as long as I did because the opportunity to be the "number 2" at a rapidly growing government contractor was too good to pass up. But I left the company because I could no longer tolerate the lack of respect and the behavior of the CEO. When I worked there, remote work was not allowed, nor was the use of comp time, although it is possible that has changed since I left. Again, this is all my opinion of the company based on my time there. I make no claims regarding any specific policies that the CEO employed, any and all of these could have changed in the time since my absence. I only represent my personal opinions and experiences in dealing with the CEO during my employment.

Linkitall Response

As the CEO of the company, I have decided to respond myself. This is a very unfortunate comment. Especially, since I have been known publicly to go above and beyond for all my employees/leaders. Nevertheless, as a Service-disabled Veteran, one thing I don't tolerate is disrespect ....so delivering disrespect to someone else would not be tolerate either. We strive on employee satisfaction and provide surveys each year to make sure we hear the voices of everyone within the company. Lastly, we very much provide comp time, as well as, on the spot bonuses, bday PTO, mental health PTO, etc.... On behalf of LIA, we wish you much success.

Pros

LIA is a company that values professional growth, offering employees opportunities to develop their skills and advance their careers in a supportive and innovative environment. Leadership is transparent, approachable, and invested in employee success, fostering a collaborative culture where teamwork and respect are prioritized. The company maintains a strong work-life balance, providing flexibility while ensuring employees remain engaged and productive. With a focus on cutting-edge technology and cybersecurity, LIA stays ahead in IT and government contracting, making it an exciting workplace. Employees enjoy competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that have a real impact. LIA provides a dynamic, inclusive, and forward-thinking workplace where professionals can thrive.

Cons

While LIA offers excellent growth opportunities, the fast-paced environment can sometimes feel demanding, especially for those not used to working in a dynamic and evolving organization. As a company grows in the government contracting space, processes and compliance requirements can be rigid, which may sometimes slow down decision-making. Because teams are lean and efficiency is key, employees may wear multiple hats, which can be both a learning opportunity and a challenge. Communication across different departments can occasionally be inconsistent, requiring proactive effort to stay aligned. As with many smaller or mid-sized companies, benefits and perks are solid but may not always match larger corporations. However, for those who thrive in a collaborative and agile setting, LIA remains a firm place to grow and make an impact.
