Pros

Lovely students Flexible schedule Pretty good pre-planned courseware

Cons

Very low pay with incredibly frequent deductions for minor offenses ($20 USD deduction for being 2 minutes late!) Communication from management can be very rude Poor framework for reporting student or parental misconduct on calls (in my experience)

Pros

I can get plenty of support from my teaching administrator, and there are various training sessions available that have helped me improve my teaching skills.

Cons

Sometimes students vary widely in age, so I often need to adjust my teaching style accordingly.

Pros

Quick bookings, small classes, prepared curriculum, variety of times to teach, attendance and homework checking incentives. The kids are very respectful and well-behaved, over all.

Cons

Frequently changing policy with little or no notice. You must pay a fee to withdraw your earnings from a 3rd party. You are fined and the amount is deducted from your pay for a multitude of "infractions". The most recent are you are fined if homework is not checked within 48 hours even if you are on days off. No matter how far in advance you ask for time off, you will be fined for missing the class. You are only allowed to miss 6 HOURS of classes per quarter, more may result in dismissal. If you must be gone due to illness, you must provide documentation as proof or you will be fined. We were forced to commit to a 24 week schedule (6 months) and given less than a week to do so. Policies are added to/changed, often. It is very unclear who you are to go to for questions and help.
