Pros
Decent pay for RTs. Day shift. Spend only a few hours a day actually in the office. Some 401K matching. My Center Manager is fabulous but she has to kowtow to her bosses so unreasonable expectations do trickle down.
Cons
Completely unreasonable productivity expectations make good workers feel like they're always falling short. Low office morale, bickering between departments. No pay for being on-call unless you actually have to do something. IE: Be prepared to stay home while your friends go away on a fun weekend because you're on call again. And get nothing in return for for the inconvenience. Employee cost of health benefits takes a big chunk out of your check. I pay more every month now than I did when I had a job w/o health bennies and had to buy through the marketplace. (And coverage is no better.) Mileage reimbursement is well below federal rate. Your car will die an early death. Expect to purchase a new vehicle twice as often as you normally would. (There's a budget-buster!) Majority of management are non-clinicians and don't have a clue about the complexities and time-consuming nature of proper patient care, especially when the vast majority of clients are elderly and have trouble learning their equipment adequately. Desperately needed supplies for patients are often difficult/impossible to get. Pressure, pressure, and more pressure to see more patients in a day... but hand-slapped if overtime is accrued. COMPUTER SYSTEM IS ARCHAIC.... STILL USING A PROGRAM DESIGNED IN THE 1980s!
