Market leader, great customers, very nice and supportive people, lots of change and growth - which I love but some people have a hard time with the faster pace.

I was in a leadership role in this company and worked with the CEO and Chief People Officer. This is based on what I observed in that experience. The below is based on my opinion of what I saw in terms of these 2 individuals who have been now discussed at length on this site. The CEO has created a deeply toxic culture since taking over. Several concerning patterns have emerged that the leadership team has witnessed firsthand: Agree or be removed: This is the defining characteristic of the CEO's leadership. If you challenge his thinking, offer a different perspective, or simply disagree, you will be pushed out. He has systematically built a leadership team of people who tell him what he wants to hear. The result is dangerous groupthink and zero healthy debate at the top. Removes strong leaders without cause: Staff have watched highly effective, well-respected leaders be terminated not for performance issues, but because the CEO personally disliked them. This has sent a clear message: competence and results don't protect you—loyalty to the CEO does. HR lacks independence and ethical backbone: The HR function under the Chief People Officer operates as an extension of the CEO rather than as an independent employee advocate. There have been multiple public instances where HR made choices that prioritized protecting leadership over doing what was right. Employees have no safe channel to raise concerns—HR is not a check on executive behavior, it enables it. Based on what I witnessed, I would never hire this Chief People Officer to lead HR at any organization. Verbal abuse and public humiliation: Employees have been berated in front of peers, often over inaccurate or fabricated information. This isn't tough leadership—it's abuse disguised as accountability. Gossip and divisiveness: Rather than building trust among his leadership team, the CEO regularly talks negatively about leaders behind their backs, pitting people against each other and creating a toxic, low-trust environment at the top that cascades throughout the organization. Dishonesty and manipulation: There is a pattern of misrepresenting facts, shifting blame, and manipulating situations to serve his narrative. Cultural insensitivity: There have been instances where certain employees have been made to feel their backgrounds or beliefs are valued less than others. Questionable track record: Despite the arrogance, the CEO's actual business impact has been minimal. A closer look at his career history raises legitimate questions about whether results have ever matched the self-promotion. The Result: Psychological safety is nonexistent. Employees are afraid to speak up. Trust is gone. Collaboration has been replaced by self-protection, and talented people are leaving or quietly disengaging. Advice to Management: The PE ownership should take a hard look at what's happening under the CEO's leadership before the talent exodus becomes irreversible.
