Pros
Learning the basics of photography and lighting. That's the only pro.
Cons
My car was taken up completely by photography equipment (only room left was driver's seat). The photographer is expected to set up, prop children (even screaming babies with demanding parents behind them), photograph children on 2 separate backgrounds each, and tear down completely solo...all while each preschool is trying to maintain its daily routine. On the days when another photographer came to assist, it was a breeze. But this is not a job for one person. I don't know which was worse - driving almost an hour to and from jobs or going into unsafe neighborhoods with a carload of expensive equipment. I don't know how or why the average person would want this job. I'm extremely healthy (run marathons even!)and yet I threw my back out three times lugging this equipment around and ended up with an intense flu from one very unsanitary preschool they sent me to. This job is like an marathon in itself everyday. A good business on paper, terrible in practice.
