Pros

Being behind a camera everyday for a photographer is a blessing, and seeing your shots hanging up on the walls of the studio is even better. I also met some really lovely and talented people working at Lifetouch.

Cons

Soon after I decided to quit my job, I was sent a survey from Lifetouch and they asked me to describe working for the company in one word. I said, "soul-sucking". Working for Lifetouch made me never want to pick up a camera again. Here's why: - I was lied to at my interview. I was told that I was going to be a full-time studio photographer with at least 2 days off during the week. And for the first two months, I did exactly that. But by the time I decided to quit, they had me in the studio maybe 4 times out of the entire month working six days a week. The rest of the time, they had me shoot sports. My entire portfolio that I brought to my two interviews were studio and portrait work. - They worked me as close to 40 hours as possible and avoided paying me overtime like it was the plague. - I have never witnessed such awful management in my entire 10 years of working in this field. My studio manager was incredibly unprofessional. He would often use his powers for evil and not for good. - Last minute gigs are they're specialty. Good luck having a life with this job. - I was told by my district manager that I needed to work harder to get time off to see my family. It is clear that they truly do not care about you.

Pros

Coworkers were always friendly and great to work with. Insurance was great.

Cons

Literally everything else. Company makes major changes every few months, firing managers across the country without replacements. Did not fire a sales rep who was committing felony fraud but fired small employees with false information. Company is 90 years old but refuses to make basic improvements. Nowhere to move up and bonus is rigged.
