Pros

I can make my own weekly schedule and manage the weekly caseload as I see fit. I have the ability to schedule my work obligations around my family/personal needs. The fee-for-service format allows me to be as busy as I want to be. I work with all ages, so the ramp up time did not take long for me. The workplace culture is friendly and supportive. The staff is available during office hours if I need direct assistance. In the past, the hardest part of being a therapist was dealing with collections and no-show fees. LifeStance Health handles the billings and collections. I can now just focus on being a therapist and working with my clients. The most enjoyable part of the job is working alongside my peers. LifeStance Health is a fully inclusive company that handles therapy, testing, and if needed, med management.

Cons

Holidays and vacation time are not paid. The job would be excellent if they made this change and offered paid vacation and holidays.

Pros

Incredible place to work to build experience, receive supervision while supporting a diverse client population. Extremely flexible hours, opportunity to either work from home or in office with administrative staff. Truly caring, intentional, experienced regional leaders that are open to feedback and value their employees.

Cons

Working in mental health in a publicly held corporation has its conflicts of interest. No paid vacation time for FT employees which is counterintuitive to the work we do as trauma informed providers. No paid training. Profitability and bottom-line results for shareholders should not be reason to think of long term needs and burnout potential of providers.
