Lack of support. Officemates rarely attend consultation groups and seem to act as if they are in their private practice. Disappointing as I joined a group practice for collaboration, connection, and peer support.
Billing is a mess and stressed my clients out as they often received bills much higher than what they were quoted during scheduling and intake period. Again, another reason I came to a large group practice was for billing support and I felt LS severely lacked in their area and I spent so much more time trying to advocate for my clients.
No growth opportunities. Most higher level positions or unique opportunities (eg clinical supervisor for candidates) were filled with no posting. They claimed to be changing this when I left but make close friends with those in high up positions if you want to grow as it seems to be the only way to do that in this company.
It felt like I was always matched with the clients who fit me the least. I have no trying or expertise in substance use yet those in active addiction or early recovery were constantly scheduled with me. We had so many amazing certified addiction counselors yet, and this was before the online scheduling option, they kept being given to me.
