Recruiters are misleading - Therapist LifeStance Health Employee Review

Pros

Nice office space, enjoy co workers and hybrid option.

Cons

Onboarding was a disaster. HR couldn’t answer questions confidently. You basically teach yourself the system or hope your front office staff can help you. The trainers either didn’t show on time, or system wasn’t working to provide training. The recruiter completely overhyped the compensation and the stock options. Don’t take the advance on comp - it has been a nightmare to try to figure out how LS has you pay it back (ask HR and crickets). They’re growing way too fast and can’t keep their current offices fully staffed. Their filter system has been down, intake can throw anyone on your schedule, which puts you in a tough spot of seeing someone you may not be comfortable with; if you protest too much they response ‘well at least see them and go from there,’ knowing the client will be charged for another assessment if we have to transfer them to another provider. You constantly have to scan your schedule to ensure you can catch these issues so client is able to be connected to someone who can be a better fit.

Pros

Incredible place to work to build experience, receive supervision while supporting a diverse client population. Extremely flexible hours, opportunity to either work from home or in office with administrative staff. Truly caring, intentional, experienced regional leaders that are open to feedback and value their employees.

Cons

Working in mental health in a publicly held corporation has its conflicts of interest. No paid vacation time for FT employees which is counterintuitive to the work we do as trauma informed providers. No paid training. Profitability and bottom-line results for shareholders should not be reason to think of long term needs and burnout potential of providers.
