Pros

- Our values and our content continue to shine through and keep us unified as a team - The people (on an individual level) are kind, smart, playful, and the best group of people I’ve had the privilege of calling “coworkers” - Our clients are wonderful, and we get to work with so many of the best companies and their teams. This means we get to learn and grow with a lot of talented people on a consistent basis

Cons

I’m writing this with the framing of: “What review would I provide a friend who wants to work at LifeLabs?” At the moment, I would describe the company as a “zombie”. Things continue running, but the major engines keeping morale and engagement up are being dragged down by a lot of challenges the team is facing. - Despite what some other reviews are claiming, work-life balance is no longer a guarantee, especially in client facing teams. The only teams who don’t work dark hours are internal teams or facilitators - Change management is critically lacking and has made it really difficult to stay engaged. A lot of talented and wonderful teammates have left as a result of poor execution and leadership from all teams - There’s a lack of accountability for performance from the “leadership” team. Success metrics for folks who lead teams are meaningless as nothing is done to enforce them, especially the metrics around team engagement - We keep thinking everything will be fixed with our “platform”, yet time and time again this has not worked and the end product is functionally lacking what we needed

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We deeply appreciate your recognition of the values that continue to unify us, the kindness and talent of our colleagues, and the wonderful relationships we’ve built with our clients. It’s inspiring to hear how much the team and our clients mean to you, and we couldn’t agree more about the privilege of learning and growing together. We also hear the concerns you’ve raised. We’ve passed your feedback along to our Chief Product and Chief People Officer. Additionally, all of our Executive team and People Operations team members have office hours if you would like to discuss your experiences. We are committed to supporting our client-facing roles. We have recently rolled out additional enablement tools and resources for the team. Still, we acknowledge that the workload can be heavier for different teams during varying seasons. We value overall work-life balance for all of our teams, both internal and client-facing. We enable this balance by offering flexible time off and respecting our teammates’ dark hours – we do not expect folks to consistently work into their dark hours. If you are experiencing a consistent high workload, we strongly encourage you to share this with your manager and team lead to explore solutions. All team members, including those in leadership roles, have success metrics for their roles. We hold our team leaders to drive engagement and performance of their teams. We also see driving engagement and performance through three lenses: individual, manager, and systems. We believe that all three levels are key to sustaining the overall team experience. We know that keeping our talented teammates engaged requires action, and we take your feedback seriously. We're committed to always doing better, and we value your role in driving our mission forward.

Pros

I've been at LifeLabs for several years, and I have loved the autonomy, commitment to values (not just words here), amazing people (smart and funny and kind - what more could you want?), and growth and learning opportunities I've found at LifeLabs. There's a lot of room for people to make stuff happen - and on the Sales team specifically, self-motivated, driven, and #AlwaysBeLearning-oriented folks are appreciated! I'm also excited about some of the recent investments we've made in bringing in tech that will help people do their jobs (Gong, outside sales training, etc.) While we have a lot of internal expertise, it's making it a lot easier for us to be effective when we can utilize best-in-class tech and learning!

Cons

Less of a con and just more two things to be aware of: 1) Change is a constant here. Even though LifeLabs has been around for more than 10 years, it operates as a startup in many ways. New systems and processes are coming often, so needing to do things the same way all the time doesn't really fly here. 2) Not every role at LifeLabs is designed to be a "lifetime role." The upside of a great culture is retention - people want to stay! The downside is that sometimes roles don't shift to continue responding to the evolving needs of individuals - LifeLabs is a place where you can be happy for years (like I have), but the two majority roles we have (sales and facilitation) don't see a ton of role evolution, so being willing to accept that is important to overall satisfaction.
