Pros

somewhere in there was good foundation of culture. good intentions for themost part. the mission is clear and structure is good to have. they pay well for the position compared to competors. seem to care about diversity. the people who do hiring seem to hire very good employees. if youre a client..... still work with them. they have good people and they teach good skills

Cons

created a "hungergames" situation ##as described by some staff## where they told the company 20% would be laid off in a month but you don't know who......and expect us to keep performance. this is after promising us we would have 30 days notice and they pretended we misunderstood what that meant to cover theirselves. business is run by people who are well intended but don't seem to have the skills and got roles anyway.. even with economy problems, you cant go from laying people off......to bringing them back....to laying them off again within a 2 months tome span. feels like they run the business week to week. during layoffs the ceo told us how they took a huge paycutt to be with the company as if it was a favor when many of us were facing losing jobs, doesnt seem to have people skills to lead. worst of all.......when confronted on promises they didnt keep, they told us what they were doing was done with intentions for the best for us without seeing what damage caused to staff well meaning people who didnt know how to live their own values when it matters most and take near 0 accountability for their part in a bad situation. then literally will be doing things they tell not to do to their clients

LifeLabs Learning Response

Thank you for your post. It has been a challenging and complex time at LifeLabs, and we are so sorry it has been a bad experience for you. We try to do our best to integrate different perspectives to make the kindest and most thoughtful decisions we can, keeping individual and company needs in mind — but we can do better. We tried to minimize job loss and stay nimble, but it resulted in more uncertainty and insecurity for our team, which we deeply regret. We have learned from this experience and will not make the same mistakes. We are fully committed to making decisions based on what we teach and doing so in a way that shows our care for our Labmates.

Pros

I've been at LifeLabs for several years, and I have loved the autonomy, commitment to values (not just words here), amazing people (smart and funny and kind - what more could you want?), and growth and learning opportunities I've found at LifeLabs. There's a lot of room for people to make stuff happen - and on the Sales team specifically, self-motivated, driven, and #AlwaysBeLearning-oriented folks are appreciated! I'm also excited about some of the recent investments we've made in bringing in tech that will help people do their jobs (Gong, outside sales training, etc.) While we have a lot of internal expertise, it's making it a lot easier for us to be effective when we can utilize best-in-class tech and learning!

Cons

Less of a con and just more two things to be aware of: 1) Change is a constant here. Even though LifeLabs has been around for more than 10 years, it operates as a startup in many ways. New systems and processes are coming often, so needing to do things the same way all the time doesn't really fly here. 2) Not every role at LifeLabs is designed to be a "lifetime role." The upside of a great culture is retention - people want to stay! The downside is that sometimes roles don't shift to continue responding to the evolving needs of individuals - LifeLabs is a place where you can be happy for years (like I have), but the two majority roles we have (sales and facilitation) don't see a ton of role evolution, so being willing to accept that is important to overall satisfaction.
