Pros

- Good starting pay - Good benefits and sick days - Paid training with apprenticeship - Paid travel - Free education - Possible paid NICET certification - Occasional prevailing rate work - Good entry level job for learning about electrical work

Cons

- Not paid until customer pays - Payroll seriously broken - Payroll so bad that you must keep up weekly to make sure your pay is correct - Highly fluxuating hours. Winter can be light, summer has overtime - Issues getting the parts needed for a job - Large amount of lower paying subcontracting work through major retailers - On call not always worth it. Must be working 40 hours even if company doesn't provide the full 40 hours to actually get the on-call perks

Pros

Nice mix of people from varying ages, race, background and ethnicities

Cons

I was fired because I asked for repeated help on handling disgruntled vendors who complained to me about not getting paid and about us reputedly being asked for paperwork they already sent (months ago). This angered the admin director, while I thought I was doing my job to the best of my ability, There was no discussion about the matter. I was lied to and simply told after 2 months that I was not progressing as expected. The KICKER is they never gave me any goals to reach or aspire to. Mind you I went to my account manager many times asking if I was doing the right things to which he told me I was. The situation was personal for the admin director, and I think my questions shined a light on how inadequate she was at her job and how badly managed the company is. And like someone else commented earlier, the place does look like a DUMP!
