Pros

Hours are super flexible and you get tons of experience putting together and coordinating outreach events

Cons

Hard to pick up tons of hours as it’s just a student intern position for about 10 hours a week

Pros

It's gonna be a good job if you want to chill and enjoy watching musicals and classical music concerts.

Cons

It's not a competitive place and pretty chill. and as an intern, paycheck is pretty low.

Pros

Witnessing the best performing artists live and in person in Lincoln, NE. Getting to use my college degree.

Cons

The Lied Center is a toxic work environment. They treat employees like cogs in a wheel, not human beings with lives outside of work. Over my time there, I watched all the really talented staff crash and burn due to undue stress placed upon us by the upper management and executive director. "Inept" doesn't even begin to describe the people at the top of this organization. The amount of resources (time and money) wasted in this establishment should put the University to shame. Whenever there was a job opening, which was very frequent, I would be asked if I knew of anyone who would like to apply. By the end, I wouldn't have recommended working at the Lied to someone I hated, let alone a friend or family member. Leaving was like discovering how to live again. I found out that I actually do like my career choice; the Lied had made me question if I even enjoyed it anymore. If you're thinking about applying here; DON'T DO IT.
