Pros

Comp tickets to mediocre shows and performances.

Cons

Never have I worked in a university position where misogyny was so prevalent and disgustingly accepted. Not to mention this place will work you to the bone (60+ hours a week) and suck every ounce of talent from you until they have decided you are too "difficult" to deal with and find ways to get rid of you after you have drawn boundaries for yourself. The Executive Director doesn't seem to care so much about keeping his staff happy but is more interested in maintaining the illusion of an overzealous and joyful staff when the university big-wigs or donors show up. My direct supervisor lacked any/all managerial skills or insight and was much more worried about pushing insane deadlines to keep the Executive Director content. Which meant no one could ever take an actual vacation due to everyone being siloed in their duties, swamped in work, and never hiring on additional support staff. I should note that these issues were brought to management's attention multiple times. So if you like constantly drowning in work and feeling unappreciated - then this is the place for you! You will never receive a thank you for busting your buns to meet insane unattainable deadlines. You will never get a "great job" on going out of your way to help with a project that you felt compelled to assist on because those assigned to it didn't have the means or capabilities to do so. You'll be chewed up and spit out, otherwise known as "The Lied Way." DO NOT WORK HERE...I'm sure OPA is hiring.

Pros

It's gonna be a good job if you want to chill and enjoy watching musicals and classical music concerts.

Cons

It's not a competitive place and pretty chill. and as an intern, paycheck is pretty low.

Pros

Hours are super flexible and you get tons of experience putting together and coordinating outreach events

Cons

Hard to pick up tons of hours as it’s just a student intern position for about 10 hours a week
