Pros

You know how 90% of start-ups fail? This company makes me think it's a miracle that any succeed.

Cons

100% of the female Ph. D.'s have left the lab, and 100% of full-time employees who have left the lab are female Ph. D.'s

Thank you for your feedback, we take your review seriously. We are sorry your experience was not positive. Liberty BioSecurity is made up of a diverse group of professionals. The scientists in our lab hold themselves to a high standard. They are a close team working toward common goals. As such, we experience low employee turnover. Of the two employees who have left the company in the last two years, one was female.

Pros

The work is fascinating and there is lots of potential to work with some real cutting edge science. The team in the lab is smart, capable, and a bunch of genuinely nice people. I had good relationships with my coworkers and felt there was a good sense of comradery. There are solid benefits too (not salary).

Cons

I felt like my input was not wanted/considered when I put it forward because I was "low ranking" in the company hierarchy. I was often ignored when I asked questions to management regarding my work, my own career options, and my finances with the company. Salaries are not competitive, and from what I witnessed, I would not expect to be rewarded with merit based raises or promotions.

Pros

- Great friendly people who are incredibly smart and supportive - Interesting projects and work

Cons

- Leadership undermine, undervalue and underpay their employees - Disorganized and erratic decision making; frequently take on and then drop or reprioritize projects - Promotions are relationship & feeling based, rather than being rooted in any quantitative or measurable scale. Significant disparity between contributions made to the company and compensation/reward. - Promises are made to keep you working for them without any real follow-through
