Pros

Limited to the noble mission, the company is pursuing.

Cons

On the surface, the company sells a noble mission — helping solve the housing crisis and improving lives. Unfortunately, that’s where the positivity ends. Internally, it’s a dysfunctional, chaotic family-run business where decision-making is erratic, accountability is nonexistent, and red flags are everywhere. The founders are deeply involved in day-to-day operations but lack the experience, vision, and professionalism to run a company of this scale. Worse, they’ve been known to manipulate financials and engage in questionable (potentially illegal) accounting practices. The books are being cooked, and leadership seems either unaware or complicit. C-level executives don't last long — the turnover is alarmingly high, a clear sign of instability at the top. Promises of innovation and impact quickly crumble under the weight of missed deadlines, subpar housing deliveries, and internal power struggles. If you value your mental health, professional growth, or ethical integrity, steer clear. The glossy PR and feel-good messaging are just that — messaging. The reality behind the scenes is messy, demoralizing, and frankly dangerous for your career.

Pros

Lhoopa is one of the few companies in the Philippines genuinely tackling the affordable housing gap at scale. The work feels meaningful, you see real families gaining access to homeownership, not just business metrics moving. The company moves fast and gives employees significant ownership early. Senior leadership is accessible, decisions happen quickly, and there’s strong exposure to cross-functional work across the organization. If you want to learn how a startup actually builds systems from the ground up, this is a great environment. There is also a strong culture of problem-solving and continuous improvement. People who are proactive, resourceful, and comfortable operating in ambiguity tend to thrive.

Cons

Like many high-growth startups, processes are still evolving. Priorities can shift as the company scales, and the pace may feel intense for those used to structured corporate environments. Because the mission is ambitious, workloads can be demanding at times, especially during expansion phases.
