Pros

Easy work, flexibly hours, free snacks

Cons

In my experience, management did not treat employees of color equitably. When I raised concerns in good faith, I felt there was retaliation from leadership. I also experienced situations where I believed leads and supervisors set me up for failure. The small team environment often included significant gossip, which affected morale.

Pros

Checks never bounced. Most co-workers. A bonus every quarter.

Cons

The owner double talks, is condescending, and more worried about his supposed reputation that he doesn't take criticism. They did an "anonymous" survey and when a fellow employee filled out all 1's, the owner asked everyone until he found out who filled it out giving the company low scores. And then the owner said the employee didn't understand the questions, that's why he scored it so low. And I mean he hunted him down to find the low score giver. The owner also let a person quit because of the hostile work environment caused by another employee because he was afraid of an EEOC lawsuit. Even had his lawyers involved because of his fear. This was not even close to an EEOC case but because of the hostile employee's ethnicity that's what drove him. In the end, no lawsuit, and the person ended up quitting. The pay for me was alright, but I also left because of it. The kids on the floor get paid dirt cheap for the millions the owners are racking in. They will also hire just about anyone as long as you smile. No kidding, that's part of their hiring guide. They have no safety department, I started one. Haven't been filing out OSHA 300 logs ever until I did. The insurance is super expensive, but the wife (co-owner) says she works very hard to pick the best plans. They are not the best, by a long shot. They will tell you that their 401k match is some of the best in the industry, and the owners' friend, who runs the 401 investments will say he has never seen a better match. Pro tip, thousands of other companies have better matches. Every place I have ever worked was better. You are not 100% vested in the profit sharing for 3 years. And speaking of that, he puts it in a 401 for you because you don't know how to save. What a pal. It's a bait and switch when they bring you in the conference room for the interview and point up on the wall talking about the core values. NOBODY follows the core values not even the owner. But he will tell you they live by them, they do not. My god I can go on for days but why? Just know you will be lied to about the core values in your interview, and then told "you don't know how much money you make" when it's raise time and you want more for all you do. Pro tip, don't do too much, just the bare minimum and you'll work out great there.
