Pros

Lots of ability to move into different departments or move up if you are a quick learner. Long term employees are respected and paid well. Generous ownership/ management. Pizzas parties, profit sharing, breakfasts, steak or burger bbqs are all very common.

Cons

Filthy, dangerous work environment. Incredibly loud at all times. Brutally hot in the summer months. Shift work. Virtually every department is dangerous and people are hurt frequently.

Pros

I can't walk anywhere in this plant without having someone say hi, or givng a fist bump. Most of the guys socialize outside of work hours. Boot allowance. Free prescription safety glasses. Invested in "LEAN" manufacturing system, and actively promote the suggestion of work place improvement ideas from anyone in the plant. If you have an idea to make a task or procedure easier, they want to know about it and will even reward you if the idea gets put in place. In house hiring for apprenticeships and more technical roles give opportunity to advance yourself. Above average wages for production work. Indoor work, nice and warm during the winter. Unique interesting setting. pension plan is fantastic. Profit sharing. Very transparent management/ ownership. When times are good they are glowing and telling everyone how awesome we are doing and really supportive. When times are tough and the numbers are ugly, there is no sugar coating it, and everyone is expected to try and find ways to turn the ship around.

Cons

Dirty, dusty, loud, harsh setting. Can be dangerous at times-We are pouring liquid metal after all. Benefits are the worst I have seen. No optical coverage at all, and laughable dental coverage. I would gladly pay double our benefits cost for a reasonable package. Repetitive work and long continuous hours on your feet. Some out dated equipment.

Thank you so much for your review! We honestly pride ourselves in how friendly and welcoming it is here. I'm glad to see that you have a similar experience! I can also be loud, dusty, and dirty - you're right. We need every person working with us to have Health & Safety as their top priority. Working in a manufacturing environment requires it, but we also just want everyone to go home to their friends and families without injury every day! As for the benefits - we are definitely looking in to these right now. We recognized the same opportunity for us to Be Better (one of our values), and we decided to take a close look to make sure that you're getting the best bang for your buck. If you still work with us today (and we hope you do!), please keep and ear out for what's happening with this. Over the past two months, we have communicated where we are at with this at our Town Hall meetings. As always, please don't hesitate to drop by the HR office if you'd like to chat, if you have any recommendations or suggestions, or just need to let us know that something isn't quite right.
