Pros
If you're looking for a group of people to work with who aren't just passionate about the company they work for, but the industry they are enveloped in, LendEDU is the place to be.
Rather than just getting assignments plopped on my desk, I was given the chance to ideate some of my own projects and research pieces. The head of the company is not looking for task monkeys, and when they hire, they hire you based upon what they think you can contribute, not just what you are capable of. Creative freedom is definitely something that they value.
The team I worked with isn't afraid to push the boundaries of journalism and don't care if they ruffle a few feathers on the way. This attitude brought an energy of excitement and thrill into every day I worked there.
Whether it's an ice-cold kegerator filled with cold-brew or a post-work happy-hour, the senior team knows how to take care of their employees and has the culture to back it.
In addition to an awesome office with a great view of lower Manhattan, LendEDU was a fantastic place to work.
Cons
Although it wasn't a problem for me, the fact that it is a male dominated team might dissuade some people.
However, I believe they are continuing to diversify their team with a variety of perspectives, including the addition of 2 women.
Don't let this be a reason to miss out on working with an incredibly talented and friendly team!
