Pros

Ability to go in office if local. You are showered with gifts, food and booze in office.

Cons

Management. Continuous empty promises without action. Management will make faces at you when not understanding or liking your stance. Mind you these meetings also have your peers who can see this behavior. When addressed with management - you are given corporate jargon as a response with zero understanding. Majority of employees are outraged with the way management treats them. Management does not listen to you when asked for your option. They have already formulated their determination but attempt to make you feel as though you are part of the change. Most meetings management reads slides and talks at you rather than with you. The pet department is ran by leaders who do not have pet experience. The team leads do - they should be running the depo. Pay. Employees speak up frequently about inconsistencies with pay and development. Have been asked to do this and then they are gaslit. In your interview, unless change now - they don’t tell you that you do not get a raise on your 1 yr unless you meet a set of closed claims (can happen anything within 3 mk of 1 yr if In claims) or get promoted. This NEEDS to be something you dispose as the time of your interview not 5 mo after you hire someone. One of the values is to be bold and speak up but if you do you are looked at as a bad egg. Be fearful of speaking your mind here unless you know your manager has the same idea. Lemonade provides trainings for management in empathy and how to do right by their employees. My manager did not follow these processes or guidelines. How can you train other to be a certain way yet you do not walk in the same shoes?

Pros

Great company/culture, great people, great exam support. Surrounded by the cream of the crop in the insurance and insurtech world. interesting and dynamic work. A nice bonus is you will learn how to code here, it's non negotiable.

Cons

No formal rotational programs. Work can get get overwhelming during exam season (maybe not a unique thing to this company). No bonuses, just equity.

Pros

When I started there it was amazing. Lots of flexibility, good pay, great benefits, and fantastic people to collaborate with. It was a real startup culture.

Cons

Once they started hiring old hats from entrenched and archaic insurance companies to be senior leaders the tone changed. Almost overnight it became just like the institutional insurance companies where you can be stabbed in the back at any moment and you’re only valued if senior leaders can see your work product. If you don’t have regular interactions with them or pat yourself on the back often you are as good as gone.
