Pros

There are countless pros. My number one would be the people I work with. The people I met during the interview process were honest about what to expect and it is exactly as they framed it. When I met these people I knew I would be challenged every day and that I could really learn a lot. I have autonomy in my role and I feel like I am a crucial part of the team and not a cog in the wheel. I am rewarded for my work! I know others have written about the company's pay but I have always been recognized, yearly, for the work I do. I have never felt more appreciated in my entire career. The tech is amazing! The teams are so smart and hardworking. Something that you won't find other places: the leadership here rolls up their sleeves to do the work alongside you. We are cared about as employees for sure. Its more than a job, its really a place where you can grow a career.

Cons

You just have to like change. Its not a company that is the same day to day. Not a traditional carrier either so if you're coming from that world an expecting some similarities, it will be disappointing. I do agree being spread out across offices is a bummer sometimes and there can be a disconnect but it still feels like we have the same shared goals.

Pros

Great company/culture, great people, great exam support. Surrounded by the cream of the crop in the insurance and insurtech world. interesting and dynamic work. A nice bonus is you will learn how to code here, it's non negotiable.

Cons

No formal rotational programs. Work can get get overwhelming during exam season (maybe not a unique thing to this company). No bonuses, just equity.

Pros

When I started there it was amazing. Lots of flexibility, good pay, great benefits, and fantastic people to collaborate with. It was a real startup culture.

Cons

Once they started hiring old hats from entrenched and archaic insurance companies to be senior leaders the tone changed. Almost overnight it became just like the institutional insurance companies where you can be stabbed in the back at any moment and you’re only valued if senior leaders can see your work product. If you don’t have regular interactions with them or pat yourself on the back often you are as good as gone.
