Pros
First work experience in my life. I started the department of guest experience on my own. This was a very steep learning and development curve for me. I got introduced to the hospitality market and was able to put an impact in different areas of the company. I was responsible of adopting a reservations system from analyzing and defining needs and roles and then comparing options, conducting meetings and later, implementation. I used my skills in handling guests and setting the right way to deal with them and had the opportunity to educate my team for that.
Cons
The internal communication between departments was not collaborative since the company was a new start-up so it faced the silo-mentality challenge including the CEO/Founder in the equation. I am coming from a more fresh and open-to-discussion and teamwork background so I faced a big struggle accepting the toxic environment.
