Pros

Serving the public in rural and urban settings. The Lee County Sheriffs Office takes a proactive approach to ensuring it's employees have the proper equipment to perform thier duties. This organization is better at equiping it's people than most surounding agencies.

Cons

Poor comunications between upper management and staff. Workers feel unapreciated and undervalued. There is a sense in this organization that if you dont like it, quit, we can always replace you with someone cheaper. Benefits package is very bad. Family coverage is almost $400 a month and that is with a $200 deductable, per year and per person for: Perscription drugs, outpatient, major medical. Dental is very limited and there is no vision coverage.

Pros

Interaction with the taxpayers.

Cons

Too much favoritism shown for select employees. Favoritism given to specific employees in job evaluations, employee reviews and pay raises. Upper management averages pay increases by over 15% each yr (on average). No raises given to most employees. Drastically underpaid. Ignorance of the ACTUAL job market that should be considered for salaries, etc.
