Pros

LedgerDocs is the perfect work environment for young individuals to learn and develop their technical skills and passions. Although the development team is small, it provides the rare opportunity to gets your hands dirty in the full stack and it means that your projects are that much more impactful to the team. Front-end, back-end, databases, security, UI & UX strategy, you name it. I got the chance to dabble in it all and had a great learning experience. The close-knit team also makes it really feel like family. The people are what make LedgerDocs such a great company and it's awesome to work alongside individuals who are so fired up and passionate about the impact that they make.

Cons

Too many tasty lunch places in the area to choose from, makes it difficult to decide where to eat next!

Pros

- Incredible levels of autonomy for an intern. You get to work on new customer facing features from design to implementation - Full stack development experience all the way from backend database work to front end ui - Having accountants in the same office lets you interact with actual users for feedback - Weekly technical meetings lets you see the non tech part of running a business and decision making - Friendly office environment and flexible hours

Cons

- PHP/Codeigniter isn't the hottest tech stack - Working with legacy code is a pain sometimes without a proper test suite - Transit to North Vancouver can be a pain but the office is a quick walk away from the seabus terminal
