Pros

- This company cares about who you are and what is important to you - Flexible schedules for certain roles - Managers who listen - Easy to voice your opinion, great communication overall - a relaxed work environment with great teamwork across all departments - Market parity for salaries - Good vacation time - Lots of opportunity for travel (but not required, unless it necessary for your job) - Opportunities to specialize and grow/elevate yourself within the company.

Cons

- Lots of social events (I'm a bit of an introvert) but none of these are mandatory. I just have a lot going on and I feel bad saying no. Also, I was trying to fill the 5-word minimum in this field, I honestly have no complaints.

Pros

Leavetown has been built on a few key notions like gaining valuable life experiences, having fun and staying authentic. Luckily, these values are implemented in a day-to-day work routine and atmosphere at Leavetown. Since it is still a start-up, the team is still relatively small. It's nice as it allows for an easy work environment, where the whole team works together, knows each other on a pretty personal level and inspires collaboration. You talk/see to almost everyone on the team at least once a day, and so there's never that "what's his name down the hall". This is especially important because it feels as if you're coming to work with a group of friends rather than colleagues. All the while, Leavetown has managed to maintain a level of professionalism in the business that doesn't impede the casual, fun work culture but still reminds employees that they still are at work. They keep that fun work culture by trying to engage in social outings, establishing beer Fridays, staff trips, and offering "rewards" for sales targets. Management really puts in effort to try and reward team members for hard work, and ensuring each members happiness in the workplace. They're really good at making you feel comfortable and happy at your job. Another huge bonus is working with a start-up itself, as you see yourself grow with the company instead of the company growing independent of you. It's great to be in a place where you are free to share your opinions and ideas and have that be a welcomed/encouraged practice rather than dismissed.

Cons

The thing about working for a start-up is, everybody is making mistakes. Everyday you are treading unchartered waters and you learn as you grow. It's the same for Leavetown. Standard practices that are established in a large corporation often don't exist here, and processes are constantly being made and changed as the days go along. This can sometimes lead to a lack of communication between employees/departments, inefficient processes, etc. For example, there's a pretty large bottleneck with the flow of information and duties through the hierarchy. Management is extremely flat out and may sometimes have a hard time passing off work and responsibility. Though, that can double as a compliment because it shows their dedication to the company and the hard work they're putting in daily. But it can ultimately delay projects or work performance because it creates a bottleneck rather than a smooth flow of work and information. However, it's easy to see that everyone is learning as the company grows and the nice thing is, it's always changing and for the better. The work pace is usually quite quick, and you're expected to deliver results, engage and improve. But what's the point of working if you're not being challenged.
