There's not much room for career growth unless your manager leaves.

Program staff are generally thoughtful and dedicated to their specific programs and fields of expertise. On a program by program basis, most are doing very good work. Positive side of the lack of organizational infrastructure means there can be freedom to be creative.

Very little organizational infrastructure or staff support. No clear organization wide mission or vision that ties programs together. The CEO is more invested in politics and punditry than managing the organization, and when he does is entirely focused on numbers. Little CEO understanding or interest in the substance of programs beyond the bottom line, while also playing fast and loose with funding and budgets.
