Pros

Tremendous potential for personal and professional growth; an engaging experience, and a chance to work with, teach, and be a role model for some incredibly bright high school students; free travel, room and board, along with a moderate meal stipend for breaks between conferences

Cons

Training/orientation is focused more on the mission of the organization and less on the practical details one needs to know in order to be truly successful on the job; low wage, when considering the number of hours worked (about 14-16 hours per day for 10 consecutive days with 4-5 days between each conference); few fully developed/realized programs with more of a focus on leadership than academic work, as compared to competing organizations, and students will often notice this

Pros

-Cover practically everything (flights, housing, food, cell phone) -Training allows a very quick bonding with co-workers -A satisfying experience at the end of it all

Cons

-They're in it for the money, and sometimes it shows -Guidelines are a bit clunky and antiquated -The pay may seem great at first, but at the end of the day it simply isn't enough for everything gone through

Pros

nice staff on site, networking opportunities, decent pay for a summer job, changing young students lives can be rewarding, get to be at different colleges all over the nation, plenty of opportunities

Cons

home office staff not always helpful, parents rude sometimes, students can be unruly at times, hours can be long (you will basically always be on call when students are at conference)
