All issues here trickled from the top down. The CEO has a major ego problem that affects professional and personal boundaries. He regularly fired engineer experts who expressed professional concern, took substances with staff and asked to go out, had assistants clean up after his dog and plants, and regularly demeaned anyone he disagreed with. The rest of the staff then suffered under this power dynamic, especially when loyalty and "fun" were rewarded over hard work and ethics. No HR function exists.

Last Energy has ambitious goals and a driven, mission-focused team. We collaborate closely, encourage healthy pushback, and never deviate from the north-star vision of the company. We have exciting commercial momentum and are on our way to deploying nuclear at scale. The team is full of brilliant people who leave their ego at the door to move the needle on something as ambitious as making clean, abundant, energy available to the industries and people that need it most. Our CEO is incredibly passionate about making this vision come to fruition and has assembled a company full of do-ers that challenge the status quo.

Cons

As it goes with any early-stage startup, there are operational efficiencies that need to be put in place to scale. At the moment, we are experiencing normal growing pains and are growing while building - that push and pull naturally creates friction points.
