Pros

This organization provides the opportunity to deliver compassionate care and services directly to community members with immense needs, creating immediate and meaningful impact. It is a place to grow, develop, and build strong connections and trust while helping reduce disparities.

Cons

As a nonprofit organization, wages are lower compared to some other agencies and community partners we work alongside, and the tremendous impact of the work has not always been fully recognized.

Pros

Mission-Driven Work: The organization has a solid mission and works with populations that genuinely benefit from the services offered. If you value direct service and community impact, this can be very fulfilling. Hands-On Experience: A great opportunity for those early in their career who want to gain hands-on experience in the field. Sense of Purpose: The work allows employees to make a real difference in the lives of others, especially those who thrive in service-oriented roles.

Cons

Lack of Transparency: Internal operations were often not transparent, and key decisions were made behind closed doors, leading to frustration among staff. Inconsistent Communication: Leadership's communication was inconsistent and reactive, leaving employees feeling unsupported and unsure of their roles. Burnout Risk: High caseloads, shifting expectations, and limited professional growth opportunities often led to burnout among staff. Limited Long-Term Growth: Due to systemic issues and a lack of clear structure, the role may not be sustainable long-term, making it more suitable as a stepping stone rather than a lasting career option.
