A scary place to work - Instructor Language Systems International Employee Review

Pros

The students are great.

Cons

The management decided to put cameras with audio all over the school. Everyone is very nervous. Of course they will say it's for security but nothing has happened. Worse is that management does not care about us at all. Wages are frozen. They gave a memo about raises but it was impossible. They even said in it that sick days are considered before a raise is given. I do not know anybody who got a raise at LSI. The memo about raises had so many pitfalls to get a raise nobody could do it. But worse is management doesn't care about us. I have personally seen people who are sick or disabled get thrown under the bus even though they had no control over their illness. It was very shocking. The management at night chase the students around and scold them if they are literally one minute late. They are so petty in the evening it's unreal. Students are tense especially with the cameras. Do you want to teach with a camera trained on you with audio? students want to leave. Teachers too.

Thank you for your post. While we communicated with our instructors and students regarding the installation of security cameras quite some time ago, it seems that you might not have received the message regarding the function of the security cameras. Although there haven't been any major incidents recently, we have had situations when security cameras would have helped. Furthermore, the installation of the security cameras has already proven to be helpful in keeping our schools safe for both employees and students. We suggest you meet with your supervisor to discuss your concerns. As for the merit raises, excessive absences, not including sick days, are counted toward the evaluation scores. Moreover, several instructors did receive raises at the end of the Spring term. Again, we encourage you to speak with your supervisor for a better understanding of the policy. Given your misunderstanding of our policies, this post is very misleading to anyone who reads it. Nevertheless, we thank you for voicing your concern and encourage you to either contact your supervisor or hr@languagesystems.edu for clarification of anything you may have questions about.
