Pros

1. Mostly very personable, mature and friendly colleagues. 2. The YL course is a joy to teach 3. Nice students, friendly and competent TAs 4. Lovely, dedicated Senior teachers who do their best to support their staff. 5. The salary used to be pretty OK with nice benefits.

Cons

There's been a change in higher management that has wrought complete havoc on the company and totally destroyed everything that was good and pure about this place. To start off, there was a covert purge of Filipino teachers who were sneakily pushed out of their jobs by the company refusing to renew their contracts or cutting their hours with no warning. Most supervisory positions have been eliminated both in operations and academic. This means that there are constant issues with miscommunication with the VNese staff(who truly try their best) - tests are not being printed on time, registers are filled in wrong, or go missing, oftentimes there are no support staff available to help print something, no CDs, or you get the wrong CD, lost tests, random make-up tests that need to suddenly be marked weeks after a class had ended, random students wandering into class because there was no one to show them where to go etc, etc. On the academic side there is only one senior teacher per centre, so if something goes wrong when they're not there because they're in a meeting at a different location or on their day off - you're on your own. The new management seems not to care whatsoever about professional development, whereas before we used to have monthly PD workshops. The centres are filthy, the resources are old and tired, there are a few smartboards/ computers, but they do not work and are impossible for the kids to use (placed way too high on the wall, a medium-sized adult would need to jump to touch the top part of the smartboard) I used to really enjoy working at LLV when I started out a few years ago, but in the last six months it's really gone into a deathspiral of forced top-down decisions, which has killed all morale, any feeling of being a valued member of a team, and any chance that I would ever recommend this place to anyone.
