Good work-life balance. - Product Architect Landmark Graphics Employee Review

Pros

Work hours are reasonable (around 40 / week). Can work from home if needed. Hours are flexible. Benefits are okay. Work environment is pretty good in general. Quite a few good people from diverse backgrounds. Good to have an office, and the tools (computer, LCDs, software tools) are generally available.

Cons

Fair amount of politics. Old timers don't realize that things have changed and they can't keep on doing the same things as before. You are working for Halliburton. Halliburton isn't an evil empire, but it is a large bureaucracy. As elsewhere, there are plenty of people in management who shouldn't be there. And, like elsewhere, people are playing political games. Management doesn't seem to realize that you need to invest in products in order to do a good job. Some projects are understaffed and some resources (like travel to the other centers) are in short supply.
