Pros

Good experience in behavioral health nursing. You will learn a lot about yourself. You will learn how to deal with difficult people and situations. You will learn quickly that nobody is there to help you and you will find your true capabilities as an individual.

Cons

Management is lacking and stays secluded/ignorant from what is happening. The two nursing supervisors lock themselves in offices and don’t help their people. The behavioral health associates are understaffed, underpaid and unappreciated. Benefits get worse every year. The CEO blames the staff and their families for the rising costs of health care employee contributions. This company will hire literally anyone, so if you are a skilled nurse, you will carry the load on your shift. Most of the nurses have little knowledge of addiction and for many, this is their first nursing job. Nursing supervisors and educators do not help floor nurses understand their jobs. From day one you are put on the floor and expected to perform like a veteran. Experienced floor nurses are too busy working and getting their job done, so they have little or no time to educate new nurses. Long story short: you are on your own!

Pros

free meals, at least when I worked there, decent PTO

Cons

no support, expect you to do three other people's job with no training or pay increase, only offered raises with a required signed contract when employees were quitting left and right, very unethical practices, so many DCF violations, investigated by dcf, clients were going without necessary medications, nothing was done about drugs being used on site, all they seemed to care about was getting insurance money. Addiction is a hard enough field, look elsewhere if you want to be paid what you are worth and paid for the work they will expect you to do. did mass layoffs when the company was bought out, finally hired more people to help with critical understaffing, just did another set of layoffs. they also aren't fully upfront about all that they will require you to do once you are hired.
