This is a rotten organization from top to bottom. Lakeside suffers from two problems: 1. The character and quality of management is the worst I've ever encountered. They don't care about actually building a team or evolving. All they care about is selling licenses, whatever it takes. This is a private equity company that was purchased from the original owner and in my opinion has a limited shelf life. Their marketspace is quickly shrinking with key players like VMware entering it. It always felt like they were trying to push as much product out the door knowing that their clock was ticking. Some of the uppper management were the worst people I've ever worked with in terms of employee interactions and approach. They are known for burn-and-turn staff without warning. Knowing this, people have either left ahead of time or were unceremoniously fired on a whim. I believe it got so bad for some that they encountered medical issues because of their jobs. 2. The second big problem is the constant sense of dissatisfaction at lower levels. Morale is pitiful. It felt like few actually cared about their jobs or delivering what was reasonably expected. The skill level among technical staff varied from excellent to barely there. This was and probably is a terrible place to work. Steer clear.
