The front of house is tight knit good people. The chefs are very kind, also good people. The only reason I stayed for so long. Tips can be good when busy enough, otherwise front of house is usually overstaffed and tips are pooled.
Cons
The owner is the source of all the problems at this restaurant. He consistently demonstrates a lack of emotional intelligence and leadership maturity, making it very difficult for the team to excel under such a demotivating and dysfunctional management style. He is a hovering busybody that will get upset with you about anything and everything. What is worse is if management/the owner has a problem with the way you do something they do not provide constructive feedback, they just cut your shifts. Managers change all the time bringing in different leadership styles and different expectations making it tumultuous. Leadership will tell you over and over that one day you can become a server but you. Never. Will. so don't fall for it. Capable food runners/hosts who have been at Laili for years still haven't moved up. Schedule is sent out on Monday of the week.
